Joan Laporta: Barcelona are not interested in Manchester United star

By

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta says he is not interested in bringing former Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria to the club.

Laporta is a former president of the club and a candidate to return to the post on July 18.

The Spanish giants are rumoured to be ready to make a move for the Manchester United star but Laporta says the Argentina international will not be a target if he is elected as president next month.

"We could not think about signing Di Maria," he told Catalunya Radio.

"We guarantee that we will win [the election battle] because we manage sporting success.

"I am very excited to be able to lead the club."
