Memphis Depay: My goals target for the new season

By

New Manchester United signing Memphis Depay says he can score at least 15 goals in next season's Premier League.

The 21-year-old finalised a £31m move to Old Trafford at the start of the month and is Louis van Gaal's first major signing of the summer.

The Dutchman ended this season as the Eredivisie's best scorer with 22 goals for PSV Eindhoven.

"If you ask me to make an estimate, I think maybe 15 of those 22 goals this season in England I can score," the youngster is quoted as saying by Mirror.

"In recent months I looked occasionally how many goals wingers score in different leagues.

"When I was on 15, Neymar was on 17. Robben had 17 mid-April, when he got injured and then his season was over."

Meanwhile, fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie says the youngster is ready to shine in the Premier League.

"Yeah, I am looking forward to it," van Persie told MUTV.

"I have been working with him for the last year or so with Holland, so I know him quite well.

"I am excited for him. He has made a big move to Manchester United and it will be interesting to see how he will do, and how he will take on this challenge."
