Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was delighted after his side's 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
A perfect game saw the Red Devils extend their unbeaten run to eight games as they consolidate their third place in the English Premier League table.
"I was very pleased because we dominated for 90 minutes," van Gaal told MUTV.
"In the second half we are only thinking already of the [upcoming] game against Tottenham because there were unnecessary losses of the ball. But overall I'm very pleased with the performance.
"The first-half was, of course, the better half and, during the second, we were already thinking of the match against Tottenham, which is why we did not dominate.
"We make progress in every game but we are also doing bad things in every game and we have to improve that.
"But I'm satisfied because we are dominating a lot of games, most of the games we have played this season we have dominated. We're not always winning but that is coming.
With two goals and an assist, striker Wayne Rooney was the best player on the pitch for United, much to the delight of the Dutchman.
"Against Villa, he was a little bit too defensive and I asked for him to be more attacking," van Gaal added.
"He then scores two goals and gets and assist, what more can you demand as a manager?"
