Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says this weekend's derby against Manchester United is not a personal battle against Louis van Gaal.
The Citizens are six points off the top of the table and will be desperate to bounce back from disappointing results against West Ham United in the English Premier League and the fourth-round League Cup exit against Newcastle United.
"On Sunday it will be City vs United and last year was the same," Pellegrini said on Friday.
"It was not me vs Moyes and this time it's not me vs Van Gaal.
"For supporters it's a special game and we know that. We know what it means to win against Manchester United."
Spain's David Silva is expected to be on the sidelines for a month but the Chilean insists there is enough depth in the squad to cover for the absence of the 28-year-old.
"David [Silva] is a very important player but we have a squad and we will have to replace him with another player.
"Yaya Toure has a small problem. We'll see tomorrow but I think he will have no problems to play."
