Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says he prefers to focus on team issues rather than a particular player.
Midfielder Yaya Toure was heavily criticised after a below-par performance in mid-week against Bayern Munich in the Champions League but the Chilean says the 31-year-old is committed to the Citizens.
"It is not fair for me to criticise what Yaya did in the last game," Pellegrini said during Friday's press conference.
"In this team - at least in my way of thinking - when we win or lose it is because all the team did well or did bad.
"I think everyone knows what his best performance [is], of all the players, and are trying to reach that performance, all of them.
"I don't agree Yaya has all the responsibility about the game we played.
"Yaya always has commitment with the team and the squad, and his mates. He doesn't have problems about that."
On the other hand, goalkeeper Joe Hart enjoyed one of his best games for City producing a number of top-class saves but Pellegrini insists he doesn't analyse his players' performance with the press.
"I repeat exactly the same when some of you asked me about Joe Hart against Stoke," added the manager.
"I don't analyse individual performance with the press, I always talk with the players in the way I think they do it.
"All of you saw that Joe made a very good game, that is why he is number one with England, but I repeat I prefer to talk about the team, not individual players."
