Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany says the 2-3 away win registered in December of last year is a confidence boost ahead of tomorrow.
The Citizens will make their Champions League debut against Bayern Munich with the captain believing the Citizens can cause an upset in Germany.
Manuel Pellegrini's side produced a superb comeback when the two teams faced each other last year in Group D of the competition and the Belgium international will be hoping for more of the same when they meet again on Wednesday night.
"We're confident," Kompany told the Daily Mirror.
"This is the first game of the Champions League, an away game against one of the hardest teams to play against in the world right now.
"But we should take confidence out of the last game we played in Munich. We're up for the challenge anyway.
"I don't think we've got a point to prove in Europe.
"I dissociate Europe from the league. But I just want to win games."
