Manuel Pellegrini: Frank Lampard and Eliaquim Mangala could play

By

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says Frank Lampard and Eliaquim Mangala could feature against Arsenal on Saturday.

The former Chelsea midfielder is yet to make his debut for the Citizens with £32m signing Mangala also yet to feature in Pellegrini's side.

"Frank [Lampard] is ready," Pellegrini said during Friday's press conference.

"He has worked for about one month and he doesn't have any problems. Mangala is working normally and is in the squad list also.

"We have to play three games in a week so we will see if they play in these games. Both of them are ready to do it but I can't say which games they will play or if they will play."

Manchester City were trashed 3-0 by the Gunners when the two teams met in the Community Shield but Pellegrini predicts a different outcome tomorrow.

"Different games, different competitions, different moments," the manager added.

"Remember that when we played the Community Shield we had nine players out of the team because they arrived too late [from the World Cup] to play that game."
