Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says his side is slowly getting back to last season's form.
The Reds moved on to the semi-finals of the League Cup with a 3-1 win over Championship leaders Bournemouth and setup a clash with Chelsea.
"I can certainly see signs that we are getting back to where we were," Rodgers said.
"There is a long way to go but this was a tough game, coming to a side top of the Championship."
Winger Raheem Sterling was in top form for Liverpool and Rodgers says the Englishman should be given more credit for his work.
"The kid [Raheem Sterling], for some reason, seems to be getting a lot of stick off a lot of people for something," added the manager.
"In that role he plays you think of Alexis Sanchez when he plays for Arsenal.
"He is not an out-and-out striker but his speed in front of the back four and behind them causes problems and you've seen that with him here, he can get it, turn and go at defenders. He was outstanding."
