Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says he is satisfied with his players despite the goalless draw against Sunderland.
The Reds could only manage a draw against a well-organised Sunderland team and will now shift their focus to Tuesday's pivotal Champions League game against Basel.
"We've got seven points from nine this week," Rodgers said.
"It was important to keep a clean sheet and it was a big effort from the players. If you can't win it's important you don't lose.
"I can't have any complaints from the players.
"We pressed the game well, got into good areas and maybe needed a little bit of luck for the ball to drop to us.
"Sunderland proved this year that they are a hard team to beat. I can't fault the players.
"Stevie [Gerrard] coming on gave everyone a lift. I thought him and Raheem [Sterling] were outstanding."
