Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says his players are focused on getting a positive result against what he described as the best team in the world.
The Reds failed to neutralise the power of the Spaniards when the two teams played at Anfield but the Northern Irishman insists that tomorrow's game is an opportunity to improve their Group B Champions League position.
"Our focus is to get a result," Rodgers said.
"We see it as an opportunity rather than any threat. We are still very much in the hunt to qualify from the group.
"We respect the opponent. They are arguably the best team in the world at the moment.
"But if we can find the intensity and speed that we had last season then we can give any team in the world a game.
"[Cristiano] Ronaldo is probably the best player in the world. He has been impressive for a number of years and is playing with great confidence. But as a team they work very hard.
"They have some outstanding players. It is very much a team effort but certainly he is the catalyst of that team and an outstanding player.
"Let's hope he doesn't score too many more tomorrow and we will work hard to get a good result.
"Mario [Balotelli] is working very hard and like we ask of all our players he is doing his very best. He is doing that.
"He hasn't got the goals that he would have liked and we would. But in terms of him adapting to what we're doing and working hard, he is doing that.
"He just needs to focus on continuing to give his very best for the football club."
