Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was happy with the performance of his players despite a disappointing goalless draw against Hull City.
The Reds were on the attack for most of the game but failed to convert their dominance into goals as they fall eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
"Performance wise we were excellent, particularly in the second half where we were outstanding," Rodgers said.
"After a tough game in midweek it was a great effort from the players and we deserved to win the game.
"I thought it was just a matter of time until we scored, we created some opportunities and had 19 shots at goal.
"I can't ask for any more from the players, they've given everything."
Rodgers was disappointed late in the game after striker Mario Balotelli wasted a last-minute opportunity when he failed to make contact with the ball after good work from Philippe Coutinho.
"He will be disappointed with that," Rodgers said.
"The cross came in, it was a perfect ball, he just opened his foot up too far and the chance was gone."
