Milan Channel confirm Liverpool offer for Mario Balotelli

By

Milan club television station Milan Channel has this morning confirmed that Liverpool have made an offer for Mario Balotelli.

According to initial reports, the Reds presented a £3.5m offer to have the 24-year-old on loan with £12m to be offered at the end of the season if they decide to sign him on a permanent basis.

The player's agent, Mino Raiola, is in England to negotiate the transfer of the striker.

After selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona last month for a fee reported to be in the region of £75m, an important signing in the offensive department was immediately a priority for Brendan Rodgers.

And the manager has in fact revealed that a new striker is required after last week's 2-1 victory over Southampton.

If the transfer goes ahead, Liverpool will be Balotelli's second club in England after three seasons with Manchester City where he scored 30 goals in 80 appearances for the Citizens.
