"Chelsea are frontrunners" - Blues in pole position to sign £40million star who has already held talks with Arsenal

By

Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to land Jean Michael Seri after the midfielder sat down with representatives from Arsenal, according to Metro.

Arsenal's transfer plans have been thrown into turmoil after Arsene Wenger's premature departure from the club.

A number of high-profile players linked with the club are having second thoughts as the primary reason why they wanted to move to North London was to work under the Frenchman.

Barcelona are also interested in the 26-year-old.

But it seems the Blues have moved into pole position with the player eager to move to Stamford Bridge even if manager Antonio Conte leaves the club.

Seri was also a target for Arsenal during last summer's transfer window.

But he eventually decided to stay with Nice.
