"Chelsea will make a bid" - Blues with chance to steal in and sign defender wanted by Premier League rivals

By

Chelsea could be preparing to muscle in on Tottenham's move for Davinson Sanchez according to the Daily Star.

The defender enjoyed a very solid campaign last season with Ajax and has attracted interest from a number of top European club.s

Spurs were strong favourites to secure his services.

But it seems that the Blues have now joined the race and are determined to add him to Antonio Conte's squad.

Earlier this week, Ajax made it clear that the player is not for sale.

"Last year Sanchez signed a five-year contract and we don't want to let him go," the club said to Sky Sports.

"That's what [sporting director] Marc Overmars has told the player and his agents.

"He is a great player who is very important for us. Next to that, we never comment on rumours regarding transfers."
