Antonio Conte makes U-turn over transfer decision and wants striker to play for Chelsea this season

By

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has changed his mind and wants one of his strikers to stay at the club.

Estadio Deportivo has claimed that the Italian has told Michy Batshuayi to continue at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international was all set to leave the club this summer.

But a number of top-class performances in pre-season convinced the 48-year-old to keep him at the club.

Chelsea will sell regular striker Diego Costa this month and new signing Alvaro Morata has struggled in his first appearances for the club.

The Spaniard looked slow and unfit on Sunday against Arsenal.

He missed from the penalty spot as the Gunners won the Charity Shield with Oliver Giroud's well-placed penalty.
