Chelsea target gives massive transfer update after reports claim he will move to Stamford Bridge

By

Chelsea target Kostas Manolas says he is "definitely" staying at Rome.

The Greece international was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Zenit St Petersburg at the start of the summer transfer window.

He was very close to making a move to Russia but the two clubs failed to reach a financial agreement.

The 26-year-old established himself as one of the most solid defenders in the Italian Serie A.

He opted not to make any comments on his contract situation but confirmed that he will stay in Italy at least for one more season.

"I'll stay here, definitely," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"I can't say anything about my contract, I don't know what will happen. But I'll stay."
