Manager first says Chelsea will complete striker transfer but then backtracks immediately

By

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone seems to have confirmed that Chelsea striker Diego Costa will re-join the Spanish Liga giants next year.

The Argentine was first ready to confirm the January transfer but then backtracked straight away by saying that he prefers not to talk about players who belongs to other clubs.

The Spaniard is for sale after manager Antonio Conte made it clear that he will not play anymore for the Blues.

"All the players want to stay, they want to achieve even better goals and get even better," Simeone told reporters.

"Diego Costa? If he comes in January... we can't say anything about that yet.

"I won't speak about him now.

"He is a player of Chelsea. We will talk about the boys who are here now, because we have a late start to the season. That is what is important."
