"We spoke" - Team-mate gives update on midfielder wanted by Antonio Conte at Chelsea

By

Internazionale midfielder Joao Mario says he had a chat with Renato Sanches ahead of the last few weeks of the summer transfer window.

The Bayern Munich man is wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United but Mario believes Milan in Italy would be a better destination for his friend and team-mate.

"We spoke after Thursday’s game [between Inter and Bayern Munich in Singapore]," Mario told reporters.

"He is young and strong, so I understand that he wants to play consistently and there is a lot of competition for places at Bayern.

"I told him that if he goes to Milan, he’ll find a great club and I’d have another friend in the city."

Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed last week that the youngster could leave the club either on loan or on a permanent transfer.
