Five-year contract agreed: Chelsea target joins champions after medical is done and paperwork finalised

By

Chelsea target Federico Bernardeschi has left Fiorentina to join champions Juventus.

The Italy international signed a five-year contract with his new club.

He was heavily linked with a possible move to Stamford Bridge but he eventually decided to stay in the Italian Serie A.

"I am very excited," he said.

"As soon as I came here [in Turin] I saw many people eager to welcome me and I felt love.

"Objectives? I am here to help the team and the manager, on a personal level we will see later on.

"Buffon? I always said that he is an example for everyone and he is now my new captain.

"My position on the pitch? It depends on what the manager wants from me but I am available to play in any role [in midfield]."
