Medical passed and three-year contract signed as Chelsea announce transfer of "impressive midfielder"

By

Chelsea have announced on their official website that midfielder Mukhtar Ali has left the club to join Vitesse.

The 19-year-old completed a permanent transfer to the club where he spent last season on loan.

The Blues were full of praise for the youngster in a statement that described his spell at Vitesse on loan as impressive.

"Mukhtar Ali has today completed a permanent transfer to Vitesse Arnhem," the statement says.

"The 19-year-old returns to the Dutch club, where he impressed on loan during the second half of last season.

"Having joined the Chelsea Academy as an Under-11, Ali was part of our teams which won the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in 2015/16. He was the only player to feature in all 10 matches of the European competition.

"After spending the first half of last season with our development squad, the midfielder was then loaned to Vitesse and made six appearances in the Eredivisie.

"We thank Mukhtar for his service and wish him well for the future."
