"We are negotiating" - Manager confirms 21-year-old will complete Chelsea transfer in the coming days

By

Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed that he wants to sign Chelsea midfielder Jordan Houghton on loan.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with the Rovers although his spell came to an abrupt end in February after he suffered a knee injury during the 1-1 draw against Luton Town.

But Ferguson is eager to keep working with the youngster.

"Jordan is not going to be fully fit to play in our games until the middle of September," he told The Sheffield Star.

"We're negotiating with Chelsea over what we can do with him.

"Jordan would be a signing that we'd look to get done pretty soon, then getting one or two others in after that."
