Agreement reached and contract signed: Chelsea announce midfielder transfer deal is done and dusted

By

Chelsea have announced on their official website that midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has left the club to join Crystal Palace on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old has only made 22 appearances for the Blues since being promoted from the academy.

He will be hoping to enjoy regular first-team football with the Eagles next season.

"I had the option of coming to Palace and I thought that it would be great for me," the youngster told Crystal Palace's official website.

"I live not too far away, I was born in Lewisham and Palace is good club so I thought it's a good chance to play here and be a part of the team.

"They have a very strong team and I'd like to be a part of that this season."
