Real Madrid star gives transfer advice to teammate after reports claim he will sign for Chelsea

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has urged striker James Rodriguez to stay at the club.

The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United earlier this month.

And recent reports have claimed that Chelsea have moved in pole position to sign him.

But the Croatia international says Real Madrid is the best club in the world.

"[James' future?] It's certainly not an easy decision to leave Madrid," he told Marca.

"When you leave here, nothing is the same. You're at the best club in the world, that's for sure, and from there you can only go down.

"Everyone will have their reasons.

"If I continue like this, I will do everything possible to stay, but things in football change fast."
