Chelsea complete first summer signing: Player has already agreed personal terms and passed medical

By

Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo‏ has revealed on Twitter that Chelsea have completed the signing of goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

Merlo was the one to confirm on June 13 that the Blues were negotiating with the goalkeeper to make him Antonio Conte's first summer signing.

And he has now claimed that the 35-year-old completed his medical with Chelsea and will be officially announced later on this week.

Caballero was released by Manchester City at the end of last season and had offers from Argentina.

But he decided to continue in the English Premier League as he will take over from Asmir Begovic as Thibaut Courtois's backup goalkeeper.

The Argentine will add experience and leadership to manager Antonio Conte's squad.
