Chelsea hold talks for "shock transfer" - He is perfect for Antonio Conte's midfield

By

Chelsea have held tentative talks with Everton over the possibility of signing Toffees midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to Metro.

The article claims that the 27-year-old would be "perfect competition" for regular midfielder N'Golo Kante.

The Senegal international joined the Toffees during last summer's transfer window and become a pivotal element in Ronald Koeman's squad.

The Blues are still negotiating with Everton for the transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku and could make an additional offer to sign the former Aston Villa man.

The only problem for Chelsea is that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is determined to keep the player as he considers him one of the most important players for his midfield.

Everton have struggled to keep hold of their best players in recent years but they are trying hard to end this trend this summer.
