£115,000-a-week deal: Chelsea on the verge of first big summer signing after holding talks with agent

By

Chelsea have held talks with Leonardo Bonucci's agent and are ready to submit a £48.6million offer to sign him, Metro has claimed.

Agent Alessandro Lucci was in London last week and met with the Premier League champions to understand if there is the possibility of finalising the transfer this month.

The Italy international has established himself as one of the strongest defenders in the Italian Serie A but recent reports have claimed that he is ready to embark on a new challenge in the English Premier League.

The Blues will offer a £7million-a-year contract to the player.

Bonucci was already a target for Chelsea during last summer transfer's window but after deciding to stay in Italy, manager Antonio Conte signed David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola is also interested in the 30-year-old but Chelsea have the edge since the player already worked under Antonio Conte when at Juventus.
