Five-year contract agreed: Chelsea target has agreed personal terms with club and will soon sign contract

By

Manchester City have won the race to sign Chelsea target Ryan Bertrand, football market expert Emanuele Giulianelli has revealed on Twitter.

The Italian journalist says the Southampton man will sign a five-year contract and will be yet another signing for Pep Guardiola's side.

The Englishman joined the Saints from Chelsea during the 2015 winter transfer window for £10million.

Liverpool were also interested with recent reports claiming that the 27-year-old already told his friends that he will leave the St Mary's Stadium this summer.

Manchester City have been tracking the player for months and have stepped up their interest after not reaching an agreement with Monaco's Benjamin Mendy.

Boss Guardiola is in desperate need of a new left-back after Gael Clichy was released by the club.
