Chelsea hope to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko in the next few weeks, in what is likely to be their first signing of the summer, the Independent has reported.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a top class season with Monaco this season and is available for a reported fee of £42million.
If he joins, midfielder Nemanja Matic will probably leave the club to join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with the Frenchman but with the Gunners missing out on a Champions League spot, the Blues are strong favourites to secure his services.
Recently, he uploaded a photo on Instagram with the hashtag "CFC" which many thought it was a reference to "Chelsea Football Club".
In reality, he was just pointing out to "Canal Football Club", the show he was on when the photo was taken.
