Chelsea in £78million offer to Real Madrid to sign Arsene Wenger's dream striker signing

By

Chelsea are reportedly preparing an astronomical swoop for Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez according to the Daily Star.

Recent reports have claimed that the Colombian is ready to leave the Spanish giants after struggling to secure a regular place in Zinedine Zidane's squad.

He started the 2016 UEFA Super Cup game on the bench, coming on in the 73rd minute of the game to take over from Mateo Kovacic.

At the end of last month, he insisted that he wants to fight for a regular place in Madrid amid rumours that he was a target for Manchester United.

"I will fight to earn my place. That's my dream. I will stay at Real Madrid, I will succeed here," he told Marca.

"I know that the club received an €85m [£71million] bid for me, but I'm not leaving."

But it now seems that the 25-year-old is determined to leave the Spanish Liga to embark on a new adventure in the English Premier League.
