Chelsea midfielder Danilo Pantic has left the club to join Dutch side SBV Excelsior on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge during last summer's transfer window but is yet to make his official debut for the club.

He was loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem last season and is now looking forward to gain the needed experience before making a return to Chelsea.

"I've just arrived and still can not say so much about the club, but the first impression is good," he told the club's official website.

"I just met my new teammates and employees of the club.

"I understand that Excelsior is a family club and that speaks to me.

"Chelsea is a big club and it is difficult to intervene there as a young player.

"Therefore, it is good for my development to be rented out and to gain experience."
