Sporting director confirms Chelsea could soon conclude yet another summer transfer

By

Borussia Monchengladbach have insisted that they want to make the transfer of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen a permanent one.

The 20-year-old joined the Germans on loan during last summer's transfer window and his contract with the Die Fohlen will expire next year.

Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the two clubs are negotiating to make the move permanent but added that an agreement is yet to be reached.

"We absolutely want to sign him," Eberl said.

"Now it depends on money."

Last month, the youngster made it clear that if he is to return to Chelsea next season it should be to enjoy regular first-team football.

"The main thing is, to play," he said.

"That’s the main thing that I want for my future.

"It is all about playing football and that’s it. Playing at Chelsea is an ambition of mine, to play over there in the first team but right now I am not thinking about the future."
