Chelsea finalise agreement for highly rated midfielder, player poses with club's new jersey

By

Chelsea have announced that Jordan Houghton has joined Doncaster Rovers on loan until 3 January.

The Rovers described the youngster as a "highly rated midfielder" as they published a photo with the 20-year-old holding the Doncaster jersey on their club's official website.

"I'm really pleased," the player told PlayerHD.

"I've had a couple of training sessions now, we had a little bit of a game yesterday which is good to get into it and speaking with the manager [Darren Ferguson], he's got some good ideas for the season.

"I'm really looking forward to the next six months.

"There were a few phone calls from [first-team coach] Paul Butler and the manager himself through to Chelsea and through my agent and then phone calls to myself.

"They told me what they can do for me, in my development, I was really pleased with the phone calls I had with the manager and Paul and it's really pleasing for me to know what they can do to develop me as a player."
