Chelsea make contact with "infamous agent" to sign £16million wonderkid wanted by Antonio Conte

By

Chelsea have opened talks to sign 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder Thiago Maia, the Daily Star has reported.

The report claims that the Blues have made contact with the player's agent, Kia Joorabchian, to complete the transfer.

The youngster has a market transfer value of £15million.

Palmeiras, Fiorentina and Valencia are also interested in securing the services of the Santos central midfielder.

In May, the player confessed that his dream is to play for Paris Saint-Germain but also that it's too early to leave Santos.

"I have a lot to learn, I want to win trophies and have my picture on the wall before leaving Santos," he was quoted as saying by Samba Foot.

"I need more experience, tricks, more precise in my runs, make more passes, and become more complete. I'm learning from the veterans here, Ricardo Oliveira, Elano, Renato and David Braz.

"[My dream club in Europe?] PSG. I don't know the reason! I'm a friend of Marquinhos, he showed me photos, and the structure is monstrous. I liked his shirt and their uniform."
