Four-year contract agreed and signed: Chelsea announce deal for defender is done and dusted

By

Chelsea have announced that Fikayo Tomori has signed a new four-year contract with the club.

The 18-year-old made his official debut for the Blues towards the end of last season and has been training with manager Antonio Conte's first team squad during the pre-season.

He was delighted after putting pen to paper as he says that his objective this summer is to learn from the senior players and improve ahead of the new season.

"It's good for me," he told the club's official website.

"[It is] a confidence booster knowing I did well last year and being rewarded with a new contract. Now I've got to improve and show my worth.

"It's been good to spend the pre-season with the first team, to learn from the older players and know what it's like to be on a tour and see how they are preparing for the season."
