Antonio Conte speaks out after reports claim he wants to sign lethal striker

By

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was full of praise for striker Carlos Tevez amid rumours that he wants him at Stamford Bridge.

The experienced striker revealed this week that the Blues and Napoli made contact to sign him this summer.

But he rejected both offers as he wants to stay at Boca Juniors.

"Carlos was one of my players when I was manager at Juventus," Conte is quoted as saying by Calciomercato.com.

"With him we've enjoyed an exceptional campaign.

"I appreciated him as a player and as a person.

"He is now a Boca Juniors player and he worked extremely hard to make a return to Argentina.

"I wish him and his family all the best."
