Highly rated defender will snub Arsenal because he wants to play under Antonio Conte at Chelsea

By

Arsenal and Chelsea have been told they must pay almost £38m for Roma defender Kostas Manolas, according to the Daily Star.

The centre-back has been linked with a possible move to the English Premier League although Roma are not interested in selling.

According to the article, if the player leaves the club it will be to join Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to Stamford Bridge.

But at the moment the Giallorossi have declared him not for sale.

"Why would Manolas leave the club?" president James Pallotta told reporters.

"Juan Jesus and Nacho are two defenders who will bring experience to the club.

"The team is working hard [in training] and we will be ready for the Champions League play-off."
