Chelsea announce agreement has been reached for transfer of "young player of the year"

By

Chelsea defender Nathan Ake will spend the 2016/17 season on loan at Bournemouth, the club has confirmed.

The youngster has only made five appearances for the Blues before joining Reading and Watford on loan.

At Watford he won the club's Young Player of the Year award after making 28 appearances for the Hornets last season.

"We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth," Cherries chief executive Neill Blake.

"For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.

"He is an international player with great pedigree, so we are really excited to have him join us for the upcoming season."
