Chelsea to soon open talks to make Manchester United star their first summer signing

By

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would like Matteo Darmian to join him at Chelsea this summer, according to Express Sport.

The Italian manager is fully focused on the Euro 2016 Championship but is also keeping a close eye on his players to understand who would fit in his Chelsea squad next season.

The Manchester United defender started Monday's game against Belgium but was replaced in the 58th minute of the game.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a very positive start to his Old Trafford campaign but struggled with fitness issues in the second part of the season.

It is unclear whether new manager Jose Mourinho has a place in his squad for the full-back who would be delighted to work under Conte next season.
