Chelsea to open negotiations with Turkish side for transfer of French striker

By

Turkish side Fenerbahce are interested in signing Chelsea striker Loic Remy on loan, Sabah has reported on Monday.

The Frenchman ended his season prematurely after suffering a groin injury in April and is expected to be loaned out during the summer transfer window.

Last year, the 29-year-old made it clear that he wants to enjoy regular first-team football and was expected to leave last January but then-interim manager Guus Hiddink decided to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

"It is true it is frustrating sitting on the bench but the manager knows all the team and he has very good quality in the squad," Remy told the club's official website last year.

"That is why when I came on I just played with my quality. Scoring goals is my job as a striker but I know there are only 11 players on the pitch and as soon the manager needs me I am here."
