Chelsea have made contact to sign West Ham United's attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet, trusted source Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed.
The 29-year-old stole the headlines after scoring an impressive goal for France against Romania on Friday.
He signed a new contract with the Hammers in February, becoming the most paid player at the club.
France boss Didier Deschamps was full of praise for the Frenchman after victory over Romania.
"I have no doubts about the influence he can have within a game or the fact he can make the difference," Deschamps explained.
"He was the difference maker today - he is an attacking player but also someone who helps out the team."
