Jose Mourinho: What failing to make the top four would mean to Chelsea

By

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says the status of the club will not change if the Blues fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Citing Liverpool and Manchester United as an example, the Portuguese insists Chelsea is a "big" club and will continue to be a big club even if they fail to finish in the top four this season.

"Chelsea is a big club. It's the club that I choose to come to. It's a club I live in a very specific way every day," Mourinho explained.

"Liverpool is a big club, Manchester United is a super big club. Last season Liverpool win nothing and didn't qualify for the Champions League.

"Two years ago Man United didn't qualify for the Champions League - not even Europa League - and won nothing.

"They are still a monster club, but that's football."
