Chelsea plotting double £55m swoop to improve defensive department

Chelsea will complete the signings of John Stones and Baba Rahman in the coming days, according to reports in England.

Everton have identified Milan defender Cristian Zapata as a possible replacement for John Stones who is expected to join the Blues for £35m.

Meanwhile, a deal with Augsburg for Baba Rahman has been agreed.

Chelsea are expected to pay an initial fee of £14m for the 21-year-old which could rise to £20m depending on performance-related bonuses.

The two will be Jose Mourinho's last signings of the summer transfer window.
