Chelsea vs Swansea City - Fan Twitter reaction: "The referee was awful"

By

Champions Chelsea could only manage a draw against Swansea City in a game that saw goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois sent off in the second half of the game.

Fans on Twitter were clearly disappointed with the result, especially since Manchester City away from home is coming up next for the Blues.

A disappointing result but given the events of the 52nd minute I really can't complain. Moving on... #CHESWA

Terrible first game. Lucky to have a point but if this keeps up then we won't even come close to defending the title #CHESWA

Disappointed not to get the win, but one point is better than no points. #CHESWA #CFC

Proud of my team it's not our fault, Oliver has had a nightmare We played with a lot of pace and looked the better team with 10 men #CHESWA

Credit to @SwansOfficial they played well, but the ref was awful. Not a red, and denied some clear fouls, and maybe a pen. #CHESWA #CFC
