Jose Mourinho plays down Arsene Wenger handshake snub

By

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has played down the attention being given to Arsene Wenger's decision not to shake his hand at the end of the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal battled their way to a 1-0 win over Chelsea to retain the trophy they won last year against Manchester City.

Mourinho and Wenger did not appear to shake hands following the final whistle but the Portuguese says he was not bothered by the incident.

"I don't want to make a story of it," Mourinho told Sky Sports.

"If you walk in the street you are not obliged to say hello or shake your hand with anyone.

"In a sport team or institution it's a bit different.

"I thought about my club and players and the winners and the stadium but I don't think a manager has to shake hands with another if he doesn't want to."
