Jose Mourinho gives fresh update on £30m potential signing

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says he has not made a second bid for John Stones.

A £20m offer for the Englishman was rejected by Everton at the start of the month with reports claiming that a new £30m offer will be made by the Blues in the coming days.

But Mourinho says he is happy to start the new season with his current Chelsea squad.

"You are speaking with the manager of the best team in England," Mourinho told reporters.

"We are a top team, we have top players. We don't need other players, we trust these players."
