Chelsea announce departure of one striker and one defender

By

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford and defender Kenneth Omeruo have both left the club on a season-long loan deal.

The Nigerian, 21, has joined Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa to enjoy regular first-team football next season.

"The target is to get a lot of playing time and help Kasimpasa achieve their objectives," he told BBC Sport.

"I've come to Turkey to reciprocate the club's determination to bring me here.

"I want to show the manager and the fans that they have made a good choice and I am completely focused on breaking into the squad and prove myself here."

Bamford, also 21, signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea but will spend next season on loan at Crystal Palace.

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract with Chelsea," he told the club's official website.

"My dream has always been to be part of this club for the long term. Chelsea have been fantastic with my development and joining Crystal Palace for this season on loan is the next step for me in my career."
