Chelsea to make move for Ghana left-back Abdul Baba Rahman

By

Chelsea are ready to offer £15m to sign Augsburg defender Abdul Baba Rahman.

After a very successful season in the Bundesliga, the 20-year-old attracted interest from a number of top European clubs including Roma, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus.

According to reports in Italy, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici was in Germany last month to negotiate the transfer of the youngster with Augsburg's general manager Stefan Reuter, a former Juventus player.

Meanwhile, agent Sascha Empacher denied rumours that he met with Real Madrid to negotiate a transfer.

"The fact that the media have linked Baba with Real Madrid is, of course, already a great honor," Empacher is quoted as saying by Modern Ghana.

"His achievements have brought him to the attention of the world's best clubs.

"But we are not negotiating with Real [Madrid]."
