Chelsea set to make surprise move for unsettled Manchester City striker

By

Chelsea could make a surprise move to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, the Daily Star reports.

The former Wolfsburg man was a target for Liverpool last month but the Reds are no longer interested.

It is clear the 29-year-old will not spend another campaign on the bench at Manchester City and is ready to leave to join a club that will feature in next season's Champions League, as confirmed by Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic last week.

"I do speak to Dzeko often and we talk about our respective clubs. It has been a difficult year for him," Pjanic said.

"He's good for any team that he plays for, has won a great deal and I'd love to have him near me again [here at Roma]."
