Jose Mourinho breaks silence on the future of Diego Costa

By

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says striker Diego Costa will not leave the club.

According to Marca, the 26-year-old failed to settle down in London and is desperate to return to the Spanish Liga.

But The Metro and The Guardian both agree that the Blues are not ready to sell one of this season's best strikers as they want to be competitive in next season's Champions League.

Despite suffering a number of hamstring injuries, the Spaniard scored 20 goals in 37 games for the Blues, finishing third behind Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero in this season's top scorers list.

And Mourinho says the player was not happy with the rumours.

"He's the guy responsible for everything good we have in the dressing room," Mourinho said on Tuesday.

"He's so happy, so funny, he enjoys every minute and is the happiest guy in the dressing room.

"If this is unhappiness I'm happy with that. He was not happy with the news."
