Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester City ready to make £7m move for Belgian defender

By

Chelsea have identified Atletico Madrid's Tobias Albertine Maurits Alderweireld as a possible replacement for Filipe Luis.

The 26-year-old was on loan to Southampton this season with the Saints having an option to sign the player for around £6.4m.

But Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are ready to make a move for the Belgian who wants to stay in the English Premier League.

"I really want to go to a club that really wants me," the defender is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

"There are three options - stay with Atletico, stay with Southampton or go to another club. So we will see what happens.

"Southampton gave me that opportunity and it paid off, I think. I've had a fantastic year, I can't lie about that, so, yes, I'd like to stay in the Premier League."
